| | 2005 Convention Resolutions on LGBT Issues
|
These resolutions won overwhelming approval from the 2005 Convention of the Diocese of California: - Transgender Civil Rights Resolution: urged local, state and federal officials to enact laws prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity or expression of gender identity;
- Ministry of All Baptized Peoples Resolution: calls on the national Episcopal Church to add "gender identity or expression of gender identity" to Title III, Canon 1, Sec. 2 of the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church states that "No person shall be denied access to the discernment process for any ministry, lay or ordained, in this Church because of race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, disabilities or age, except as otherwise provided by these Canons. No right to licensing, ordination, or election is hereby established."
- Resolutions on Marriage & Blessings: three resolutions moving the Diocese of California closer to normalizing blessing of same gender couples across our diocese.
