Thanks to the many congregations across our diocese that worked with our materials and discussed the issues now before The Bishop's Task Force on Marriage & Blessing of the Diocese of California!

We're pleased to present our final report which you can download as a PDF file here. The PDF file includes our report; selected quotations from congregational feedback; our proposed resolutions; and the complete Resource Guide we produced to help congregations discuss these issues. On this site you can also view our draft resolutions for the diocesan convention to consider in October, 2005. The selected quotations from congregational feedback are also on this site.

We've also added to this site the Theological statement ECUSA presented to the ACC in  Nottingham, England June 21, 2005. Note: you may need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (7.0) to open this PDF file  - it is available free here from Adobe.

Some congregations plan to convene a discussion on marriage and blessing this summer. We encourage continued use of the study materials in preparation for diocesan convention.

You are welcome to download and review the Resource Guide we've designed to help parishes and parishioners consider our work. The guide is available for download as a PDF file or Word document and more information is in our Resource Guide section.

We have also included here the New Westminster Rite for Blessing of Same Sex Couples along with information on the Appreciative Inquiry process the Task Force uses as a general guide in fulfilling our charge. On this site you can also find our charge and schedule; list of members; notes from our meetings; and a list of online resources. Please check back as our work progresses for more information.
